The Macallan

The Macallan

The Macallan is honoured to be the title sponsor of the 73rd Aberlour Strathspey Highland Games.

The Macallan has enjoyed a long association with the games and is once again proud to be involved with this wonderful community event.

The sense of community, passion and pride that is displayed throughout the games is the same passion and pride that we have of being part of such a special occasion. We are delighted to have been a part of this community since 1824, and proud of the role that we have played within it.

The Macallan attracts visitors from across the world, many of whom are visiting Scotland for the first time. All of the visitors, who come and visit the distillery to see how we make our outstanding single malt whisky, comment on the great local welcome that they have received.

These visitors come to learn about the Six Pillars which are the foundation stones for the fame and character of The Macallan. They encompass the strong sense of place at the heart of the distillery and the estate, together with our long experience of distilling and maturing a single malt whisky with a reputation for product excellence and distinctive character.

  • Spiritual Home; Easter Elchies House, built in 1700, lies at the heart of The Macallan estate
  • Curiously Small Stills; contribute to the distinctively rich, fruity ‘new make’ spirit of The Macallan
  • Finest Cut; we take only 16% of the final distillation from the spirit stills to fill into our oak casks. This is the best of the best
  • Exceptional Oak Casks; The Macallan spends more on sourcing, building, seasoning and caring for its casks than any other single malt whisky
  • Natural Colour; the rich range of colours in The Macallan whiskies is drawn only from the wood of our exceptional oak casks
  • The Macallan itself; the peerless spirit - one of the world’s greatest whiskies.

Our participation today, allows us to acknowledge the great community that we are so proud to be a part of. We look forward to joining you today for what promises to be a fantastic games; we wish all contestants the best of luck and wish all spectators a wonderful day.

Walkers Shortbread

Walkers Shortbread
Pure Butter Shortbread, Oatcakes & Scottish Specialities

Walkers bake the most extensive selection of pure butter shortbreads available – we have many varieties and sizes to choose from, whether it be the familiar fingers, rounds and petticoat tails or something a little more unusual. We also make a wide range of other Scottish delicacies. Our traditionally baked oatcakes are made almost entirely from either coarse or fine-grained oats to give them that characteristically nutty flavour and firm bite. Joe Walker and Jim WalkerAnother popular treat, Walkers Scottish fruitcakes, are prepared with the care and attention needed to create their wonderfully rich crumb filled with fruits, spices and nuts. In its distinctive tartan packaging, Walkers range of products is packed with Scottish character, both inside and out. The name Walkers is recognised as a mark of excellence the world over, a true Scottish classic.

Ballindalloch Castle & Gardens

Ballindalloch Castle, is one of the finest surviving examples of a Scottish Baronial Castle and tourists flock from around the globe to visit this ‘Pearl of the North’.

Ballindalloch Castle & Gardens

Ballindalloch Castle has been the home of the Macpherson-Grants since the Sixteenth Century and today is one of the finest surviving examples of a classic Scottish baronial castle. It is also home for me and my young family, and so regularly rings to sounds somewhat less usual in heritage properties!

We hope that many people will be tempted to visit the Castle so do please explore the website which will give you some idea of the history of the place and of the Macpherson-Grant family. If you have visited the Castle, the website will hopefully be a place you can return for more detail on what you have seen.
